Let's ring in 2010

We will open the book. It's pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and it's first chapter is New Year's Day.

More traveling cuppies!

One of my frequent customers read my post about the traveling cuppies. Since her hubby was off to Singapore and it was her best friends birthday she ordered this for her. Her friend loves the Boyzone and it was only fitting as at the time she ordered this Stephen Gately had only passed away a week or so before. Once again, the customer provided me with the

SMALL ANNOUNCEMENT

It has been a very busy year indeed for SugarCane. When I started, I never expected to receive such an overwhelming response from so many of you! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your support and continued patronage.

SugarCane will be celebrating it's first anniversary this November. I will, however, be taking a month off from taking any orders. This is due to a couple of reasons. The first is I REALLY need a break! HAHAHA!!! Hey, I am, afterall, a wife and not forgetting a mother to four kids! That job is 24-7 and we wives/mothers don't get any vacation! Hehehe...

The second reason is I have some medical issues that need immediate attention. Therefore the time off from SugarCane will also be time for me to recuperate.

My last day to take orders will be 28th October. Orders will reopen on the 6th December. While I may not be taking orders, I do hope to be able to introduce new treats and cupcake flavours and may even find some time to revamp my blog! So, please do continue to visit my blog for updates.

Cheers,
Nurul

Happy B'day Irfan

This one is soooo over due! Sorry Irfan! I lupa post this one!

Made these cuppies for my BFF's hubby who celebrated his bday on 2nd Oct. A lot like my hubby(who also celebrates his bday this month), they not only share the same star sign but is also very much into sports. Therefore, the sports theme for this set featuring golf as he is really into golf!

From Ben 10 to Hello Kitty

New Castle United

This was my first order for a New Castle United logo. And instead of the usual green colours, the customer wanted black and white to reflect the team's jersey. Having black backgrounds made the footballer shadows stand out all the more.

Raya Greetings

And last but hardly the least, wishing all Muslims

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI 2009!

Traveling cuppies!

Ok. Some of you may be wondering why the heading above and why this set of cuppies is not in it's usual box. Well, as the title suggest this set did some traveling - all the way to Singapore, in fact! (hehe...SugarCane has gone international!!) That's thanks to my best friend whose gone home with her hubby and kids to Singapore to celebrate Raya with her parents and sis. The day after their arrival was her sis's birthday so she ordered this set especially for her. She provided me with the container to put the cuppies in and as there was some space left on the bottom I had added some special cuppies to keep them form moving around during the flight. Glad to inform that it arrived in the conditoned as pictured above!

Flowers, butterflies and hearts; motorbikes and cars

Another girly-girl themed cuppies above as opposed to the set below which has a very boyish theme! The one below is for a little boy named Adam. I told his mum that I have a little Adam too but he has a twin and then she said she has one set too at home, four month old twins boys!

Butterflies and fairies

This set was for a little girl who celebrated her birthday during puasa. I think this is a very girly-girl theme with all the purple and pink, butterflies and fairies all around!

For an Aunt

This was ordered by a niece for her Aunt's birthday. She wanted the theme to reflect her Aunt's love on being a mom, shopping and flowers and the colours to be black and red as that's her Aunt's fave colours.

2 flavours in a box

Am happy to let you know that I am now offering boxes of mini or medium with two different flavours of cuppies. This is due to so many of you requesting to order boxes of cuppies this way. As in one of my previous post there will be an additional cost added to the total cost of the cuppies.

FC logo on medim cuppies

The past month have been a really busy time for me with birthday orders left and right and then having to fill Raya orders and at the same time get our home ready for the festivities! So the following posts are long over due and am doing it all in one go cause it looks like another busy month ahead for me!

Most of the football themed cupcakes ordered so far had been on mini cuppies. While the surrounding designs were so much easier to get done on these medium cuppies the logo still took some time to finish. But am again happy with the end result!

What are these treats?

Some of you have been asking what Fudge Puddle and Polvoron are. So here they are:

Polvoron is a scrumptious Filipino sweet treat made from powdered milk. Another "melt-in-your-mouth" treat!

Fudge Puddles are peanut butter cups with a double chocolate fudge filling! Yum!

Random thoughts...

At times I do so many cuppies that I tend to forget what flavours and designs some of my customers have ordered! Thankfully, my darling hubby helped me out in that department as he knows what lousy memory I have! Hehehe! Thanks for you help, Sayang!

So after checking my data, below are some of the recent cuppies I've done:

Medium Banana Cupcakes with Chocolate frosting. For a mum who loves make-ups and handbags. Really enjoyed doing the designs on the handbags. Made me think about going into that business! Hmmm...my next venture, perhaps?

The sets above and below are both chocolate cuppies. The one above didn't actually have any theme for it as the customer just wanted to try out the cuppies. So she just asked for some heart and music designs along with swirls.

As for the one below, the theme was transportation. It was for a little boy and his dad who were celebrating their birthday together.
