Ok. So my family and I are huge Upin&Ipin fans. Yes. And we're not afraid to admit it! They are not only very cute(2nd of course after our very own Upin & Ipin here at home!), but the show is also very educational and helps teach our kids what kampong life is/was like for so many of us, among other things. Ok. So a customer ordered a box of Cookies & Cream cupcakes. She just wanted swirls on them but I was kinda bored with just putting half a cookie o top of the swirl. So there I was in my kitchen waiting for the cuppies to bake all the while thinking what else I could do to the cuppies without compromising the taste. Then I saw it! My stack of coloured sugar sprinkles on the shelf. So I said to myself,"Mmmmm...what if I used those?" To cut a long story short, I came up with the cuppies pictured above. Happy to report that my customer loved them so much so that she almost didn't want to bring it to the intended event she had bought it for!!! Hahaha....

Hi all! Sorry for the lack of update but I have a very valid reason for it.

Last week, as I was about to update this blog, my dear trusty laptop decided that it would take a few days leave! And without discussing it with me beforehand!!! hahaha...

So off to the repair shop it went (am guessing for some much needed RR after the abuse I put it through!!hehe) and as I had uploaded all photos directly to my laptop and deleted them from the camera there was no way for me to even update this blog from my PC. So, now I know better.

Dear Ms. MacB,

In line with your recent sudden leave of absence, the management would like to remind you to adhere to the rules and regulations of the company. All future leave will have to be filed at least two(2) weeks before date/s of actual leave. Leave timing is subject to approval by the management.

We hope that this will not occur again in the future. Should such an unfortunate event happen the management will be forced to take drastic action......and buy a new laptop!!!!

Just wanna let everyone know that as of this month, February 2010, am gonna have to start charging delivery fee to some areas. This is due to more and more customers requesting for their orders to be delivered. However, as before there will still remain certain areas where I still deliver for free :)

So the charges are as follows:

Gadong, Kiulap, Kiarong, Tanjung Bunut and Batu Satu - FREE!
Rimba, Delima, Mabohai, Kebangsaan and Bandar - $3
All other areas in Brunei-Muara(Berakas, Muara, Jerudong, etc) - $5

If you are unsure under which category you fall(coz me mind kinda going blaaah on me at d moment too! hehe...), please do not hesitate to ask me. But as always, if you opt for the delivery service, please discuss the time with me.

It has been a very busy year indeed for SugarCane. When I started, I never expected to receive such an overwhelming response from so many of you! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your support and continued patronage.

SugarCane will be celebrating it's first anniversary this November. I will, however, be taking a month off from taking any orders. This is due to a couple of reasons. The first is I REALLY need a break! HAHAHA!!! Hey, I am, afterall, a wife and not forgetting a mother to four kids! That job is 24-7 and we wives/mothers don't get any vacation! Hehehe...

The second reason is I have some medical issues that need immediate attention. Therefore the time off from SugarCane will also be time for me to recuperate.

My last day to take orders will be 28th October. Orders will reopen on the 6th December. While I may not be taking orders, I do hope to be able to introduce new treats and cupcake flavours and may even find some time to revamp my blog! So, please do continue to visit my blog for updates.

Traveling cuppies!

Ok. Some of you may be wondering why the heading above and why this set of cuppies is not in it's usual box. Well, as the title suggest this set did some traveling - all the way to Singapore, in fact! (hehe...SugarCane has gone international!!) That's thanks to my best friend whose gone home with her hubby and kids to Singapore to celebrate Raya with her parents and sis. The day after their arrival was her sis's birthday so she ordered this set especially for her. She provided me with the container to put the cuppies in and as there was some space left on the bottom I had added some special cuppies to keep them form moving around during the flight. Glad to inform that it arrived in the conditoned as pictured above!

The past month have been a really busy time for me with birthday orders left and right and then having to fill Raya orders and at the same time get our home ready for the festivities! Most of the football themed cupcakes ordered so far had been on mini cuppies. While the surrounding designs were so much easier to get done on these medium cuppies the logo still took some time to finish. But am again happy with the end result!

I found it really sweet when a boy ordered this set of mini chocolate cuppies for his girlfriend, albeit the order was made through his sis! :) He wanted it to be a surprise so asked for it to be delivered directly to her.

What made it all the more fulfilling was seeing the expression of bewilderment on the recipient's face when I met up with her and the big, big smile she had after receiving the gift!!! That had me smiling the whole day. Ahh...to be young and in love...sigh....

I knew that one of these days I would eventually have to do a set of Ben 10 themed cupcakes. And that day came yesterday. The set above was for a little boy celebrating his 6th birthday. Obviously a big Ben 10 fan.

As my kids aren't really Ben 10 fans I don't really know much about the show. So I had to do some research on it and I must say was kinda unsure if I could do the designs. Kept having to ask my daughters if I was doing the designs right(especially the aliens). But am glad to say that they all came out looking right so am very proud of li'l ol' me and my work! Wedding Anniversary Cupcakes

Made these cuppies for a couple who was celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary.

The first is a set of assorted minis while the second is a set of medium(here we go again!) Banana Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Frosting.

This is the first set that my eldest daughter helped piped the designs seeing as the theme is hearts and they're kinda easy to do anyway. Still am proud of her work and hopefully soon she can go on to doing other designs. Thanks so much my darling Yana!

The first set is chocolate while the second set is a box of assorted cuppies.

Wasn't sure if I could do the handbag designs on the second set but I enjoyed designing them and was really happy that they came out looking really nice.

Engagement cuppies

Made this cake tier and cuppies for my nephew's engagement last Friday. The cuppies featured here are an assortment of mini chocolate and vanilla as well as banana chocolate chip cupcakes with peanut butter cream cheese frosting(whew! that cuppy sure has a very long name attached to it!)

As for the cake tier, I must thank my daughters for their very handy work in helping me out. They are so into doing art and crafts and are always full of ideas which is such a bonus for me specially when I run low on ideas!

So just want to shout out to my nephew and his fiancee on their engagement:
Congrats Khairul and Aqilah!
